黄润松呼吁现任市议员必须关心民瘼

行动党全国副主席古拉特别事务主任黄润松，今天接获该党拉乞支部主席王玖通知，指位于拉乞的一条刚刚建好的沟渠倒塌，使到邻近的住宅遭受水患之灾。黄氏接获通知后马上连同王玖到现场视察。

黄氏说倒塌的沟渠位于拉乞学堂路门牌105的房子后面，从沟渠的表面看来是刚刚建好不久，却有一段超过10工尺长的砖墙倒塌，完全杜塞了沟水的流通。

居民梁女士向黄润松投诉说，该区居民曾就沟渠倒塌一事向该区的市议员作出投诉，可惜没有受到理会。他们转向拉乞村长吴家发求助，吴氏倒曾经2次到现场视察，不过也是没有实际的效用，破烂的沟渠依然没有被整修。

黄氏在视察过后表示，他将把所拍下的照片连同投诉公函交到怡保市政厅，要求负责的部门正视上述问题。黄氏也要求支部主席王玖跟进该沟渠维修的进度，务求把居民所面对的水患问题彻底解决。

在民联执政时曾担任怡保市议员的黄氏向现任的市议员作出呼吁，希望他们勤于关心民瘼，不要辜负了人民对他们的期盼。每个当官的都应该以民为本，不要只关心自己本身的政治前途和个人的得失。

DAP National Vice Chairman’s Special Officer Frankie Wong today visited Lahat together with the Branch Chairman Wong Kow to look in to a collapsed drain after receiving complain from the residence. The residences residing near the collapsed drain are now suffering from flash flood due to the blockage of the said drain.

Frankie notified that the collapsed drain is located behind house number 105. From the appearance of the said drain, it look to be newly constructed but already over 10 m in length had collapsed and is totally blocking the flow of drainage water.

Residence Madam Leong told Frankie that the residence had launch complain to the City Councillor for the area but there is no response from him. The residence then turn to the Lahat Penghulu for assistance, he do came twice to look in to the matter but to-date nothing had been done about the collapsed drain.

Frankie inform the residence that he will submit an official complain together with photograph taken to the relevant department of MBI. He also request Wong Kow to moniter closely on the progress of the drain repair work. We have to ensure the flood problem of the residence is resolved once and for all.

Frankie was an Ipoh City Councilor during the Pakatan Rakyat Rule in Perak. He calls upon all City Councilor in office to care about the people’s problem and not to disappoint them. Each and every Councilor should put the people in the first place instead of their political carrier or their personal interest.

行动党怡保西区国会议员M.古拉献给我国资深反对党人林吉祥的生日颂词，引述了法国诗人阿尔弗雷德的名言“优质生活是从一个年轻的梦想在成年时实现开此”，古拉年轻的梦想正是在1974和1978当他年方17岁和19岁开此。

古拉在政治和社会的梦想得以在中年后实现全赖于与吉祥同志的邂逅，后者点燃了古拉的梦想，最终达到一如莎士比亚所说的“到达人生巅峰的赞美”。

由于现代医学的昌明，人类的寿命得以延长，让行动党的同志和热爱民主的人民得以继续受到吉祥同志的照耀，进而实现少年时的梦想。

古拉回忆说吉祥同志第一次点燃他的梦想是在1974年，时直吉祥同志正受到政府引援国家机密法令提控，上述案件对当时正在准备高中考试的古拉造成深远的影响。天幸最终吉祥同志只被罚款1，900马币而成功保住了国会议员的资格，这让古拉和一群关心吉祥同志的朋友得以放下心头大石。

吉祥同志第二次点燃古拉心中火焰是在1978年，同时也改变了古拉欲在毕业后长居英国的决定。当时古拉正要飞往英国修读法律，在前往机场时途径八打灵进入的一间书店闲逛，买了一本吉祥同志著作的“马来西亚的定时炸弹”，并在飞往伦敦的旅程中把书看完。在看过这本著作之后，古拉深深受到吉祥同志的政治远见所感染，以致原本打算在毕业后留在英国的念头完全瓦解。古拉说对这本著作的内容至今依然记忆犹新，也是对他坚持参与我国政治改革的一大原动力。

在我国反对党过去数十年的求变及斗争里，吉祥同志的火光照耀了千千万万一如古拉的年轻人，牵引着他们走上正轨继续为国家的未来作出斗争。

THE FLAME THAT BURNS BRIGHTLY

A tribute to Lim Kit Siang, the doyen of Malaysian oppositionists By M. Kulasegaran “The good life,” said the French poet Alfred de Vigny “is a dream of youth realized in maturity.”
The dreams of my youth were fired by episodes in 1974 and 1978 when I was 17 and 21 years old respectively.

Their fulfillment in the ripeness of middle age is largely due to my trysts – political and social -- with Lim Kit Siang who ignited those dreams and whose arrival at the point that Shakespeare felt is the summit of a full life we laud today.

Happily for us, medical science has prolonged man’s longevity so that we in the DAP and democracy desiring citizens of our polity can keeping bringing their torches to be lit at the flame that still burns brightly in Kit Siang.

I remember the first lighting of my torch in 1974 while preparing for my Form 5 examinations. It involved the case of Kit Siang’s alleged violation of the Official Secrets Act, a case that was a cause célèbre at that time.

My friends and I breathed a huge sigh of relief when Kit Siang was fined a sum of RM1,900 that did not disqualify him from Parliament.

The second case of my torch’s igniting occurred in 1978 when enroute to Subang for my flight to England for law studies, I paused at a bookshop in Petaling Jaya and there saw and purchased a copy of ‘Time Bombs in Malaysia’, Kit Siang’s prophesy of disquiet-to-come in our beloved country.
On the long flight to London, I read the book and almost immediately began to rescind a prior decision I had made not to return to the country of my birth after my law studies for reason of its discriminatory policies.

That book still resonates in my memory and has kept my flame for the political reformation of the country burning brightly.

In the forests of the Malaysian opposition’s struggle for the reform of their country, the torch held aloft for nearly four decades by Lim Kit Siang has burned brightly, lighting the path for thousands such as I who have struggled to find their feet in the often bewildering and shifting sands of time.

行动党全国副主席M.古拉发表文告宣布，委任黄润松为全国副主席的特别事务主任，任期从即日起直至下一届全国大选。出席委任仪式的领袖包括拉乞支部主席王玖，彬其然支部主席陈汉方，积莪营支部主席梁顺发，近打谷支部主席苏古玛然，怡保西区支部主席斯加然，霹雳州社青团组织秘书蔡伟坤，乐林园支部主席阿南德汗和吉林当支部主席冯宝钰。

古拉说黄润松现年54岁，在行动党拥有超过28年丰富的从政经验。黄氏在90年代曾经担任行动党霹雳州联委会财政，全国社青团中央委员等高职。
Kula introduced Frankie Wong, 54 years of age with over 28 years of political experience in the DAP. During the 90’s, Frankie Wong was holding important post in the Party i.e. Treasurer of DAP Perak State Committee, Committee Member of DAP DAPSY National Executive Committee etc.

古拉补充说黄润松曾经在1986，1990，1995和1999年分别代表行动党竞选贞德隆区（现称督亚冷涉加区）, 督亚冷区（现称双溪古月区），巴占区（现称格巴扬区），和迪扎区等州议席。
Frankie Wong was a Candidate under the DAP flag in 1986, 1990, 1995 and 1999 for State Constituency namely Chenderong (Now renamed Tualang Sega), Tanjong Tualang (Now renamed Malim Nawar), Bercham (Now renamed Kepayang) and Teja respectively.

古拉说黄氏在2004和2008年大选没有代表行动党竞选，因为在这两届大选黄氏受委任为林吉祥在怡保东区的竞选主任，并在元老刘德琦，李建强，丘耀仁等人和多位党同志的共同努力之下取得辉煌成绩。
Frankie Wong did not contest in the 2004 and 2008 General Election due to his appointment as the Operation Director for Lim Kit Siang in Ipoh Timor Parliamentary Constituency. With the assistance of Party Veteran Lau Dak Kee, Lee Khin Keong, Hew Yew Yim and many other Party members, both elections concluded with fruitful results.

古拉说黄润松被委任为全国副主席特别事务主任的主要任务如下：

Kula highlighted the main purpose of Frankie Wong’s appointment is for the reasons listed below:

1. To strengthen the relationship between Party branches and National leaders, hence improving the understanding and communications between both parties.
2. To listen to the grass root members over their thoughts and comments, after which will be reported to top leaders ensuring there’s no communication breakdown between top leaders and grass root members.
3. To act as a bridge between the people and DAP, hence upgrading the understanding and relationship.
4. To proceed with all necessary preparation in order to counter Barisan Nasional in the next General Election.

古拉最后呼吁行动党领袖及党员能够给于黄润松充分的配合，以求黄氏在执行任务时能够获得事半功倍的成效。

蔡细历“车大炮“做贼喊贼

民主行动党全国元老俱乐部发表文告，反驳马华总会长拿督蔡细历向媒体发表“马华最大的缺点，就是不懂车大炮”的言论。该俱乐部对于蔡细历此等自圆其说，把广大的马来西亚人民当傻瓜的行径表示不敢苛同。

老俱乐部全国财政黄润松在文告中指出，马华公会在华社心目中的诚信早已面临破产边缘，这是人民有目共睹的事实。蔡细历却“做贼喊贼”的反指我国反对党的最佳的宣传手段就是“车大炮”，其目的只是企图转移华裔人民的视线，进而把子乌虚有的罪名加诸于反对党，尤其是行动党的身上。

黄氏在文告中补充，蔡细历在其言论中之高调渲染有关吉兰丹州加腊士，柔佛州丁能和沙巴州巴都沙比补选，华裔选民回流国阵的讯息，却对沙捞越诗巫国会补选华裔选民的动向噤若寒蝉般只字不提。蔡细历如此选择性的向媒体发表言论，黄氏觉得难免会给人一种“车大炮”的感觉，再说丁能补选华裔选民大量倾向民联是铁一般的事实，绝不容马华公会编声造影的企图加以掩盖。

黄氏呼吁蔡细历应该实事求是，别再以哗众取宠的手法博取支持，因为那一套已经成为“不合时宜”的过时产物。蔡氏和马华必须责无旁贷的向巫统争取承认统考文凭，增加华小拨款等实质利及华社的问题，才能扭转早已被华社看扁的破落形象。

Press statement by DAP Veteran Club National Treasurer Frankie Wong dated 15/02/11.

DAP National Veteran Club today rebut on the statement by MCA President Dato’ Sri Chua Soi Lek claiming that the set back of MCA is not knowing “HOW TO TELL LIES”. DAP Veteran Club condemned the above statement which has considered the Malaysian people as idiots.

Frankie Wong says in his statement that although Chua is fully aware the reputation of MCA in the eyes of the people is on the way down to the drain, he still pronounced that the best tactic the opposition to gain political mileage is by telling lies. Chua is trying to divert the attention of the people by wrongfully accusing the oppositions especially the DAP by using all sorts of ungrounded accusations.

Chua only highlighted in his statement the return of Chinese votes to BN in Galas, Tenang and Batu Sapi Bi-Election but not a single word regarding the overwhelming Chinese support for DAP in the Sibu Parliamentary Bi-Election. The way that Chua have chosen to address the public with selective facts clearly illustrate the unfaithfulness of MCA towards the Chinese community. Furthermore, the support of Chinese voters for Pakatan Rakyat in the Tenang Bi-Election is an undeniable truth. Therefore no matter how hard MCA would try, the actual will of the Chinese voters in Tenang cannot be cover up.

Frankie Wong calls upon Chua and MCA to face the cruel facts that MCA is no longer in the favor of the Chinese voters. MCA should truthfully fight for issues such as the recognition of Private School qualifications and additional funding for Chinese Primary Schools. This might still stand a chance to improve the ever fading image of MCA in the eyes of the Chinese community.

打巴联委会进行选民登记活动（新闻稿译本）

行动党打巴联委会主席梁顺发日前连同该党怡保西国会议员古拉，在打巴进行了一项选民登记活动，获得当地居民不俗的反应，梁顺发同时也是古拉的政治秘书。梁氏说当日有超过200人到他们一行人所设的柜台，进行登记和查询有关投票地点等于选举有关的事宜。

梁氏在文告中指出，作为一个负责任的马来西亚公民，人民有责任和义务以手中的一票，投选出一个负责任和廉洁的政府。梁氏说只有一个好的政府才能够保障国家的资源不会被滥用，同时也确保我们的下一代有一个光明的前景。

古拉在该活动进行时呼吁打巴区的人民踊跃登记成为选民，以求在下一届全国大选给郭阵来个迎头痛击，他同时也呼吁已经登记甚至曾经投过票的选民，到柜台来从新核准他们的投票资格，以免到时无法进行投票。

两国人民都拥有一个相同的求变心理（新闻稿译本）

行动党全国副主席古拉昨日出席了该党位于狮尾服务中心的大团拜，并受邀向出席该盛会的群众发表演说。古拉在其演词中恭贺埃及人民起义成功，推翻了独裁统治了埃及30年的穆巴勒克总统，充分展示了人民的力量是何其无坚不摧的。

古拉在文告中引述我国首相纳吉在较早前所发出的警告，“由于我国和埃及的国情不同，任何企图以示威逼使政府下台的意图是决不会得逞的，因为国阵政府不会允许一如埃及般的事件在马来西亚发生”。古拉表示无法理解为什么纳吉需要发出此等言论，因为我国的反对党在过去数十年来都是奉行着民主的制度，以一人一票的方式进行政治斗争，古拉说纳吉未免过于“举人忧天”了。

纳吉更说由国阵政府所提倡的“以人民为先”的概念，就是区分马来西亚及埃及的最大因素。古拉虽然对纳吉的言论不敢苛同，却同意我国和埃及之间并不全然相同，但是两国的人民都拥有一个相同的理念，那就是求变的心态以求能够拥有一个更美好的明天。古拉说就是因为人民这种求变的心理，才引发了上届全国大选的政治大海啸，使到国阵政府痛失长期以来被视为囊中之物的国会2/3多数议席。

古拉说在2008年大选之前，任何企图推翻国阵政府的论调都会被视为一个政治笑话，但是经过2008年毁灭性的大海啸后，我国的政治趋势已经完全改观。古拉强调说来届的全国大选将是我国的政治分水岭，对马来西亚的将来起着决定性的效应。

古拉呼吁民联三党为了在来届大选一举推翻国阵而入主布城，必须马上成立一个综合的委员会，认真和诚意的深入讨论民联三党有关议席分配的问题。古拉说在策略性和提升胜算的大前提之下，三党甚至可以考虑议席对调的可行性。

Speech by M Kula Segaran , DAP National Vice Chairman and MP for Ipoh Barat at the Chinese New Year, Canning service center in Ipoh on Sunday, February 13, 2011

The fall of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak shows the might of people power in overthrowing a dictator. It was indeed a great and courageous victory for the Egyptians who had fought against all odds.

Earlier last week, Prime Minister Najib had warned against any attempt to usurp political power in Malaysia, using demonstrations like those in Egypt, “Don't think that what is happening there must also happen in Malaysia. We will not allow it to happen here,” he was reported to have said in the Star.

I wonder why Najib wanted to issue such an unnecessary warning. Opposition parties have been fighting through the ballot boxes for decades and we will aim to achieve our target of bringing about a better society for all though the electoral process.

Yesterday, he commented on the Egypt issue again. He was reported to say that one cannot equate what is happening in Egypt with Malaysia because things are very different in the two countries. According to media report, the premier also later said that it is the BN's 'People First' policies that will ultimately be the main difference between Malaysia and former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak's 30-year regime.

It is true that the conditions in Egypt and Malaysia are not totally similar. However, there is one similarity. People do want change for the better.

In Malaysia, the desire of the voters for change has resulted in the BN suffering its most unprecedented and unexpected electoral debacle, losing its traditional parliamentary majority in the Dewan Rakyat as well the governmental power to rule in five states, Malaysians’ power lies in their votes. In a democracy, change will be brought about through the ballot boxes and Pakatan Rakyat is determined to call on the people to vote for change in the next general election. The Egyptians’ victory against the dictator has also shown the power of social networking media and internet tools in organizing and mobilizing people.

In preparing for the coming general election, PR must maximize the effective use of these tools to effectively spread our message of change to the voters. It has been speculated for some time that a snap poll will be held in March or April this year. The Prime Minister’s meeting with Umno divisions is certainly another reason why it is likely that a snap poll will soon take place.

The coming general election is undoubtedly going to be the most important election in the nation’s history. Unlike all previous elections where the talk and possibility of the Opposition toppling the BN government would be regarded as a political joke, the political landscape since the 2008 general election has changed.

In the coming general election, BN will have to face with the real possibility of being toppled from power. Hence, we can expect the coming electoral battle to be the dirtiest in the nation’s history as BN will do all it can to cling to power.


Pakatan Rakyat must therefore be better prepared. I therefore propose that the PR leadership Council to immediately set up a Seat Negotiation Committee to begin the process of seat negotiations among our component parties, including if need be and for strategic reasons, the swapping of seats.

行动党积莪营支部举办新春团拜

行动党积莪营支部在辛卯年大年初二，在其位于积莪营的党所举办了项新春团拜，并即席进行施老济贫活动，派发百米和红包给贫穷的各族人士。出席上述盛况的包括行动党元老俱乐部全国财政黄润松，回教党打巴区会主席阿都拉欣和赞助人张先生。

行动党积莪营支部主席兼打巴联委会主席梁顺发发表文告说，受惠的各族人士超过20人，其中包括弱智和行动不便的乐龄人士。梁氏说所有的费用没有获得该党任何方面的资助，完全是由本支部以及党员的慷慨解囊所筹获。

梁氏在文告中感谢出席该支部大团拜的政党领袖和村民，他希望在党员和村民的鼎力支持之下，能够把大团拜作为积莪营支部的年度活动，促进行动党和村民的关系以及拉近彼此间的距离。大团拜从下午4点直到6点为来宾准备了丰盛的自由餐和卡拉噢企歌唱，参与的各族村民超过500人。
