行动党怡保西区国会议员M.古拉发表文告，宣布委任该党积莪营支部主席兼打巴国会联委会主席梁顺发为其政治秘书，任期从本月16日起正式生效。古拉说梁顺发现年46岁，是一名出身于打巴区的成功商人，从政之前已经是一位活跃的地方领袖。梁氏精于英语和国语两大语文，同时亦掌握多种方言如粤语，福建语和客家语。
古拉在文告中补充说，梁氏是一名认同行动党理念，并非常积极于党务的党员，在地方上梁氏则是一位能够融合于民众之间的领袖。古拉说在梁氏在未被正式委任成为其政治秘书之前，已经义务的在怡保西区协助古拉的政治活动多时。

Richard Leong appointed as political secretary to M Kulasegaran, DAP MP for Ipoh Barat.Effective December 16, Sdr Richard Leong has been appointed as the political secretary to M Kulasegaran, DAP MP for Ipoh Barat.
Leong. 46, is a businessman who hails from Tapah. He writes fluently in English and Bahasa Malaysia.He speaks Mandarin as well as Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkein dialects.
He is currently the Chairman of DAP Chendering branch and Tapah Parliamentary Laision Committee.
Leong is committed to the DAP’s ideals and is known for his hard working attitude and down to earth approach.
He is always with the people on the ground. In fact, he has been doing political work and service for Kulasegaran on a voluntary basis for some time
